PetSafe Stay + Play Wireless Fence, Covers up to 3/4 Acre, 5 lb.
The Petsafe Stay + Play is the update on the decade old PetSafe Wireless PIF-300. It features significant improvements to the range and accuracy of the system, as well as adding rechargeable collars.
The Stay + Play creates a circular wireless boundary around your property without the need for any buried wire. While more convenient, the tradeoff is less accurate boundaries and less flexibility than wired systems.
The PetSafe Stay + Play is a decent wireless system.
|Conclusion||Pros & Cons|
|The PetSafe Stay + Play Wireless system is a significant improvement on the previous PetSafe Wireless PIF-300 system. Capacity is upgraded, boundary integrity improved, and the collars made rechargeable. But the improvement does not go far enough and leave the system significantly lagging the Havahart Radial in terms of performance and features.
Most notably, the Stay + Play boundary moves around more than twice as much as some other wireless fences, making training harder and making the dog more skittish around the boundary. The system is also too slow in switching off the correction when the dog returns to the safe zone. The system also lacks the boundary alarm.
The Stay + Play does shine in a few areas. You can overlap transmitters, to make a more customized layout. The collars are around 20% smaller than other systems allowing you to use the system with dogs as small as 12 lbs.
PetSafe Wireless Fence Pet Containment, Covers up to 1/2 Acre, 8 lb. Waterproof
With the Wireless Pet Containment System, you can keep pets over 8-pounds safely contained in the area of your choosing. Simply plug in the transmitter and it will emit a constant radio signal from an adjustable range of up to 90 feet in all directions. Typically, full set-up takes less than two hours and no installation, wire burying or stakes are required. To begin training with the PIF-300, temporarily define the safe pet area with boundary flags as a visual aid to the pet. Activate the receiver collar and adjust accordingly to fit them, ensuring the contact points are touching the neck. The system should be used with dogs six months or older or know basic commands such as ‘sit’ and ‘stay’. An operating and training guide is included. When the pet strays into the warning zone, the receiver collar will give a warning tone. If they continue past the warning zone, a safe, static correction is delivered through the contact points until they return to the safe pet area.
The centrally located transmitter sends an adjustable radio signal to a lightweight receiver collar on your pet, giving them a 90-foot range (half an acre) to run and play. The pet area cannot be changed into a square or rectangular shape. A variety of factors including terrain, topography and metal objects may affect operating range.
